US RARE SUBWAY POSTER Approx. 41x54 EX-NM Linen Backed Ready For Framing  $1195.00    SOLD   Special Order

An extremely popular and very rare HORIZONTAL format American movie poster measuring approx. 41" x 54". Subway sheets are printed on a thicker paper than one-sheets. Most contain the same artwork as the advance materials, and are almost always issued as "advances." They are most often found in subway displays. These posters can be either rolled or folded. Some collectors like the subway sheet because there are fewer of them released. They are somewhat large and cumbersome, but because they are printed on a thick paper, they are more durable. Still used today. HIGHLY DESIRED DUE TO ITS HORIZONTAL FORMAT AND EXTREME SCARCITY!

This is the extremely rare unreleased version. It was mistakenly made with the wrong artwork and was never released to theaters. Only a HANDFUL of these exist!! It is unknown exactly how many survived, but most were certainly destroyed. The printers realized their error a few days after printing them. They re ran them with the regular artwork of the girl water skiing and that was the version released to theaters.

This is a beautiful example of an original 27"x40" U.S. lenticular one sheet movie poster from the classic "THE LOST WORLD". These are very difficult to find in any condition! A long time can go by without one of these coming up for sale.

Lenticular posters are made with a special printing process and look similar to a hologram. Several different images are interlaced and then laminated to create the illusion of motion. With this particular poster, the image is only visible when it is lit from behind, and is primarily used in lightboxes.

This is made of 1/8" thick plastic and is very rigid and must be shipped flat in a special custom made box/crate.
